About Fiscalgrove
Last updated 25 July 2026
Fiscalgrove builds straightforward, accurate mortgage and home-finance calculators for two markets: the United Kingdom and the United States. We don't sell mortgages or take referral fees from lenders — our only job is to make the maths clear so you can go into a conversation with a broker, lender, or adviser already understanding your numbers.
Who's behind Fiscalgrove
Fiscalgrove is edited by Alex Whitfield, a personal finance writer with over a decade covering mortgages, property, and consumer lending for UK and US audiences. Every statutory or lending-convention figure on this site (Stamp Duty bands, DTI thresholds, PMI rules, and so on) is cross-checked against the primary government or regulatory source before publication, and reviewed on the schedule set out in ourEditorial Policy.
Note for site operators: replace this bio with your own real name, credentials, and photo before publishing — genuine author attribution is part of what search engines and readers use to judge trustworthiness (E-E-A-T), and a placeholder bio undermines that.
What we do (and don't do)
- We build calculators grounded in the same formulas lenders and government bodies use — never simplified approximations dressed up as exact figures.
- We clearly label every estimate, assumption, and default value, and explain where it comes from.
- We do not provide personalised financial, mortgage, or tax advice — see our Disclaimer for the UK or US site.
- We do not accept payment to favour any specific lender, broker, or product in our content.
